Canada's Mainframe Entertainment, producers of the CGI "ReBoot" will develop Epic Comics' "ALIEN LEGION" for a new animated television series ...
Vancouver's Mainframe Entertainment Inc., a leading Canadian animation house will produce a CGI TV series based on the Epic Comics' "ALIEN LEGION" comic book series, created by Carl Potts, Alan Zelenetz and Frank Cirocco. The 26 episodes will be developed by Mainframe and produced at its Vancouver studios, with co-creator Potts and Mainframe's Kevin Gamble attached to the project.
Mainframe founder Mark Fleischer says " ... the magic of CGI animation translates sci-fi themes beautifully to the television medium."
During his 13 years at Marvel Entertainment, Carl Potts served as Executive Editor of Marvel Comics and Editor-in-Chief of Marvel's 'Epic' division, with "ALIEN LEGION" comic books selling over 2 million units in North America since its 1983 debut.
Premise of the series revolves around the adventures of a band of interstellar fighters (reminiscent of the French Foreign Legion) called 'Force Nomad', a 'multi-species' crew culled from the dregs of three galaxies and hardened by intergalactic battles into a powerful fighting corps. Sometimes peacekeepers, sometimes shock troops, the Legion is sent by the intergalactic 'Galarchy" into various conflicts, led by the serpentine 'Major Sarigar' and hot-head 'Jugger Grimrod', living by the code "... Legionnaires live rough and they die hard, tough as tungsten and loyal to the dirty end ..."
Mainframe Entertainment Inc. is one of the world's most prolific producers of computer animation for television and is expanding into long-form CGI for feature films, commercials and interactive entertainment. The company is best known as the pioneer of computer animated "REBOOT" and has produced over 200 half hours of computer animation since its inception in 1993.
Mainframe is currently in production of 13 episodes of a CGI "SPIDER-MAN" series for Sony Pictures Television.
